Does anyone know where I can get a Flat Hunt Bridle that fits QH’s good? The bridle I have been using I have measured each part. I normally buy my hunt bridles from Bartsville Harness in Penn but their cob is too small and their horse is too big, I may have to call with measurements and get a custom made one.Thought someone might know somewhere that sell QH bridles
Bartville can customize your bridle, mix and match cheek pieces, browbands, etc. I would just give them a call!
Yes, Bartville will put together different size pieces to create a bridle. The one I used on my very QTR mare that I now use on my very cobby built Connemara is a mix. I think it’s a cob size crown piece, cob check pieces, horse brow band and horse cavasson. Levi is terrific to work with and the measurements they provide for different pieces are accurate. Good luck!
I use a Gatsby flat bridle from Horseloverz.com for my large pony, who’s likely of QH stock. It’s about $60. She’s in that odd size where cob bridles are sometimes too small and horse bridles are invariably in the last holes. With the Gatsby, the cob size fits fine. But while it’s decent quality, I don’t imagine it is of the same quality as one you would get from Bartville
The HDR one fits my Arab well in the cob size. It also fits my friend’s Quarab.
Get a used one from Middleburg Tack Exchange. Call them and talk to them, chances are they will send you a few to try and you can send them back if they don’t fit.
Call Levi at Bartville with your measurements and he will make a put together a custom bridle for you. Mine is horse size crown, horse noseband, cob cheeks, cob browbandand horse reins. If I get a new horse in the future, I can just swap out the cheeks and browband and it will be a normal full sized bridle. Or he can just make you one customized.
I think they are having their July sale with 10% off, not sure if its still going on.
