HELP!!! I need to locate this mare!

I found out at the Upperville Horse Show that a well bred mare my mother bred was run through a sale…possibly Eylers Stables in Thurmont, MD and sold for a few hundred dollars. I am ill about this and need COTHers help. Here are a few photos of her and her pedigree.

UPDATE!

It was definitely the RSD Horse Auctions at the Eyler Stable in Thurmont, MD. The manager knows the owner as she has consigned horses there “several times” (WHAT THE HELL), but she is unbroken and brought in the neighborhood of $175, so her prospects look very bad. I’ll know more tonight when I call him back. Disgusted, FURIOUS and heartsick.

We will be happy to buy back any of our ponies that are unwanted, once they have left Otteridge.
Please call me - (540)-330-9015 should you have any information.

Latest Update ~

I have a $1,500 reward offered for the safe return of this mare.

I just want to know she is safe and cared for. If she is, then FINE.

If not, the reward will be paid to whomever can return her safely to Otteridge Farm.

Consistent Updates will be available on my Facebook Page

Recent News from Wednesday, June 13th~

Otteridge Safari was taken to New Holland, PA & sold on Monday, August 15, 2011 for $300.

I am waiting for information on WHERE she was sold from that point, but the sellers at New Holland have told me her $300 price is above the slaughter price (so there is hope!). I will update with more information as soon as I hear.

Please keep looking and if any of you know of sellers/buyers that frequent New Holland’s horse sales on Mondays and may have gone to that one, please show them her photos I have on my facebook page.

Thank you again for the tremendous outpouring of support.

I haven’t posted an update on here because I really don’t have anything concrete to post.

What I do know ~

  1. I have spoken with Dr. Holt’s office in PA. He is the Vet assigned to New Holland. No new Coggins was pulled on Safari under the seller’s name. That is understandable since she had one pulled on August 4th and was resold on the 15th. The office did check the files for the kill buyer that send horses to Canada, but because I don’t have a “tag” number for her, the information of whether she was on a truck to Canada could not be confirmed.

  2. Every single time I get close to certainty I get told that Bobby Costa can tell me the answer. If you remember, I have spoken with him and he mysteriously did not have the buyer listed next to her info. in his “book”.

  3. I have spoken to an Animal Communicator (never have in my life before this). Actually, a Facebook friend reached out to someone who has an excellent track record with animals on my behalf, and the Communicator also called me herself. She had a brief visual of Safari in the color green, which she explained to me meant she was alive. If an animal is dead, they appear in purple to her. She also said Safari was in a pasture with some rolling hills.

  4. A well connected friend has spoken with New Holland’s sale office twice today. The woman in the office told this person that: “I didn’t want to tell that other lady (me) this, but I think that pony went to Canada.”

  5. The answer lies with the seller and so far, I haven’t been told where he sold her.

I’m really concerned she was sent to slaughter. We will keep pressing until we find out for sure.
