Help me pick a dressage stallion for an Arabian mare!

The UB-40 gelding is absolutely gorgeous but look at the mare that produced him; her picture is stunning. Having been in Arabs for over 40 years, and done many Half-Arabians of various crosses, I must say I would not have guessed he was a warmblood-cross based on the video (probably due to his young age). None the less, he is stunning. I do not have any stallion suggestions. My only suggestion is to post a picture of the mare so folks can suggest stallions based on her conformation. Oops, a second suggestion, please know what you are getting into financially with ET. It can be heartbreaker and wallet breaker.

But, best of luck.

Well thank you!!! I think he is pretty hot stuff too  . Would you have thought he was purebred? He is pretty refined! The mare really is gorgeous, I would love to get another out of her one day…I am taking him to his first Arabian show in November, I am pretty excited to see what the Arabian people in my region think of him!

Would E.H. Buddenbrock be a good suggestion? Such a nice horse, and I love the idea of a Trak with an Arab, particularly one with some jump and a good canter behind it.

Update: After the breeding season from hell we’ve given up on trying to get another foal from this mare. :frowning: Back to the drawing board for 2014.

:frowning: Bummed for you. Do have another mare or are you just going to look for a foal?

I think I’m just going to start looking for a prospect and be done with it. I was really hoping to get one last foal from this mare since I’ve had such luck with some of her other offspring, but it’s just not happening.

Have you been dealing with shipped and frozen? You might want to think about live cover alternatives…and for an Arab cross, the stallion approval is less critical than the suitability of the horse (or colt) himself…if you are content with Half-Arab papers…

We have a client that has a gorgeous Schroeder x Arabian foal last year. I’ll see if I can get some pictures posted. She was looking for amateur friendly too and loved what she got. He has excellent fresh, just won his regional championships at 4th level and going to Nationals in KY! We also have 20% booking discounts going on now for bookings this month (september).

I can recommend my stallion Soprano. Soprano’s daughter, Shana’s Romance, out of an Arab mare by the Arabian stallion Out of Cyte was the 2013 Reserve National Champion for 2-1/2 Year Old Arab Fillies. What about sir wannabi or one of his babies grits? My friend has a yearling from her mare that is adorable, sir wannabe is very ammy friendly and so are his offspring.

There was a trakener mare local too that was beginner safe like immediatatly after breaking.

Hoping your the Grits i know and not someone different as suggestions may make more sense!

Do you have a big black gelding and daughter’s welshx mare?(holly) if so pm me!!
