Do you have any experience with the PE liners?
It’s funny you should ask. Given what the weather has been like here over the last two days (negative temperatures with 40 mph wind gusts), I was looking at liners.
Short answer, no, I don’t have a PE liner, but I would have ordered one if, for example, Smartpak or another US based retailer had them. I wanted to get a liner more quickly than the shipping from Britain usually entails.
If you do decide to get one, you should definitely post about it!
Oh wow that’s very cold!
Maybe if we both write to SmartPak they’ll start stocking them lol
I think the Optimo stable line would be pretty bulky to layer over. That would be better for a situation where you are swapping out layers. The Amigo insulator line is the best for this purpose if you need nylon and the ability to attach a neck. Even though they don’t have shoulder gussets, they are a bit roomier than the turnouts.
Just hopping in to sing the praises of PE blankets, including the liners, and also the SHIPPING! It is obscenely expensive, BUT it’s also obscenely fast. Every single one of my PE blankets has arrived in less than five days, and that’s shipped from the UK to California. It’s become a running joke that purchases from them will show up before domestic items I purchased days earlier than the blankets because it’s happened two or three times now.
I really love the quality, different cuts, and overall styling of the PE blankets. The prices with shipping are a bit eyewatering but comparable to a Rhino (and less than a Rhino in some cases) with more options and IMO a better fit. I like the liners a lot as well, they work a treat and it all “hooks up” nicely.
I have a horse with the similar issue of blankets strangling him when he’s grazing. So far the only thing that has totally alleviated that issue is the Amigo XL line. They are big in other areas too though (the drop and surcingles).

Schneider has a line of blankets called “Big Fella” which might fill the bill. Bucas has a model called Big Neck. But it would be more expensive…
I got my Atlantic Bucas turnout and 2 neck covers (one lightweight and one 300 gram) from Toklat Originals…I think they are located in Oregon. I thought I remembered seeing the Big Neck models on their website
