Help Plz. Tact or Education Needed. [a short novel]

But what about those of us who should be riding the short bus???

I would like to interject a short story about my short bus.

I lived in TX at the time. We (my fiance and I) were there because he was in ENJJPT --Euro Nato Joint Jet Pilot Training)…blah blah…

Anyway, so he and his cronies were in pilot training and liked to party. For a time, I was making several trips from the bar to various houses using my itty bitty Pontiac Grand Am as the DD.

That’s when they bought “the bus”. The bus had a set of long horns tied to the front, Christmas lights strung throughout the interior, and all bus riders were issued football helmets with glued in long hair wigs to wear as they were tossed out the door at slow speed during their evening drop off.

I drove that bus all over Wichita Falls TX for the better part of a year. Once, landing at a strip club. There is just something about a short yellow bus with long horns parked in the strip club parking lot that gets attention.

Sigh.

Anyway… . I am quite good at driving a bus…short or otherwise. Just in case you need such talents.

Apricot!

I have resisted picking a color because I don’t want to fully admit that I am addicted to this thread. But…when I looked one of my fav colors (ok, not really my fav color but a pretty good assimilation of orange and pink…which are my fav colors…ok, after green…crap…I just love them all) was still available so I think it is fate. Could I be apricot? And does this mean I have to ride at the front of the bus since I am first on the list? :frowning: Everyone knows all the fun happens in the back of the bus.

I caught two of my HS kids having ‘fun’ in the back of the bus. Unfortunately, for them it was all on tape! There will be NO coloring in the back of MY bus.

If we need a bus driver after the plane/train rides, can I drive? I have a BIG yellow bus that holds 84!:D
Perfect and the yellow color will be perfect primer for the orange yellow color of the outside of the pack, I mean bus. Plus 84 seats ! Fabulous, that’s seating for a box of 64, an extra 16 pack and 4 seats to spare. Now I am really going to cause some problems with this but… did you know you can get a CUSTOM box of 64 crayons. You can even get several of the same color in one box. So no need for any conflicts over colors we can have more than one, but you will need to sit together on the bus, plane, train or trailer.

paint the bus?

Anyone remember the bus on The Partridge Family? We could paint color squares showing all the individual colors on the outside!

Is anyone else’s head spinning fromtrying to keep their refences straight between the CCTL thread and the Child in Pasture thread?
If it just me…ignore my mushy brain :)
:no::no: Me too.

“Momma, Momma, is there a cheesy white knight in shining armour in this story?”

“No, my dear, but a new arena is about to fall on the Wicked Crayola Trainer…”

 when I got my first engineering job, they actually issued me a pocket protector.

Seriously.

People use those things here.

I. Am. Not. Kidding.

Ergo, I love a trainwreck, and I am an engineer.

It’s nice to know some things never change. After years of not visiting COTH, I find it’s still good for hours of entertaining reading that remind me that my current interactions with nutjobs really aren’t that bad! Thanks guys!

(and I really, really hope that everything is okay with Kade, & BA has a great new/old business)

Ouch
Nope, no homework! Although I’m sure there are a few crayons stuck between the seats. And it has a radio for singalongs!
Ouch, I bet that is painful for the guys:eek:

Pssst. Should we say something about horses so we don’t get in trouble?

I used to have a coloring book of horses and I loved it! I’d have lots of palominos, buckskins and pintos - hardly ever a bay, black or chestnut. Speaking of chestnut, what color crayon d’you think would work best for that? Burnt sienna? Burnt orange? I have a pinto mare that is chesnut with a flaxen mane and tail…she’d be hard to color.
I know I didn’t get to contribute a whole heck of a lot to the CCTL thread, but I did manage to heavily participate in a trainwreck in to the WWYD thread…

Does that count??

:)
Yes, you DID. I definitely think it should count.

Gosh, Erin, it depends on the shade of chestnut horse. Light chestnut, liver chestnut? Plain old orange would work for some chestnuts, others that burnt siena or burnt orange. Then there’s “chestnut” – if they still have that color. I remember seeing “brick red” at one time. That would be good.

And if it’s a sorrel, what’s a good color for the mane and tail? Maize?

Y’know, I need to go outside…

:lol::D:lol::smiley:

Thank you sketcher!!!

Aren’t you supposed to be coloring?

You can use the burnt sienna for her, as that’s the reddish color with gold flakes, or used to be. I need to go buy some crayons, last bought were in Dec. for a vet’s 3 kids, the big carousel of crayons at walmart. I didn’t know then that I should have bought some for comparison for this thread.

With the drunk mother going to KookiCat’s at 2am, do you think Erin that you and your soon to be husband could swing by there and straighten things out a little? Hmmmm, wonder if anyone is honeymooning near Blind Alter’s place?
Oh and watch out for that fence, I suspect that KookiCat has upped the voltage, and the mother of satan’s child won’t be able to get her hair down for a week.

Ok, so totally late to the party, but I guess I’ll take green-yellow  For some reason as a kid my grass always ended up green-yellow instead of green. Maybe why I can’t get my grass to go green now? Stupid droughts…

Can I be Alizaron Crimson? Whatever happens, please don’t make me be puce.

MMM - I think you want to be chartreuse?

I had my commercial driver’s license…so maybe I could drive a commercial vehicle of crayons, I mean people, if needed during out voyage! You know, like from the airport to the Wicked Witches house. Of course if we did it in the US it wouldn’t be legal since I don’t have the license anymore (moved to a diff. state, didn’t renew) but we’ll cross that bridge when we get there or just take the bus or van with horns!

can’t decide

Should I choose Neon Carrot, which is the color of my horse when he is clean and the sun shines off of him like a shiny penny? OR Caribbean Green 'cause I like the carribean, and green? Tough decision.

Duh! Caribbean Green for two reasons:

 1. For the caribbean Rum in mojito
 2. For the green mint in the mojito
