Help! What does "HD" mean in feeding directions?

Google has only made me feel like more of a fool.

If a supplement says, for example “Recommended Feeding Rate: 0.5oz/hd” what in the name of god does HD mean?

I thought I’d gotten past the point of a feed label defeating me. I guess it’s good to stay humble.

head? lol No clue.

Yeah, it’s head. It’s more commonly seen on something like livestock salt or minerals or similar versus a product that’s strictly marketed for horses.

THANK YOU!

This makes sense. I’m looking at a yeast supplement that is commonly used as a feed additive for dairy cows. Appreciate it!

That means per head. Usually a term used in cattle or other typical livestock feeding directions.
