Help With Too Small Show Jacket

I have a beautiful Grand Prix tech light coat that is a grey and black two tone that I LOVE but it is just a hair tight on my shoulders. I don’t know if there is any “letting it out” but I also cannot find the same jacket ANYWHERE (plan was to buy the next size up and then tailor to fit). So - any ideas (besides losing any extra lbs which is on the to do list) to make it work? OR enable me to shop for a new coat and help me find another pretty two tone or charcoal grey coat?

Post a photo or link and the size you need and maybe the magic of this forum will work for you. I’ve seen a lot of needles in haystacks found here, sometimes in COTHer closets!

you might look at different type bras. There was an article in the COTH by one of our community members who owns a bra shop. It showed the same rider, wearing the same hunt coat attire, wearing different bras. Some of the jackets gapped terribly in the front and, I imagine, pulled across the back.

Only a tailor can look at the jacket and tell you if there is enough selvage to ease out the fit

I don’t really think losing weight (unless it’s super significant) will really help with you being too broad in the shoulders for the jacket. Have you tried taking it to a tailor and seeing what they think?

Take it to a tailor. I’m a weird size and have to have all of my coats tailored. They have all kinds of tricks up their sleeve and can potentially make it a custom fit. Plus it’s way cheaper than a new coat if they can make it work.
