The farm I boarded at in Va had locust posts that were over 40 years old and still firmly planted in the ground. Replacing boards was a pain because the locust did not want to let go of the nails from the deteriorated boards and you had to drill pilot holes to even think of driving a nail into them.
There are a few mills around here that are producing rough cut pressure treated pine boards. There are several farms that have installed them for the fencing.
