Henny’s not entered for Rolex, at least not yet. Henny’s Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Run-Henny-Run/150410394987788) hasn’t been updated since last August, and the runhennyrun.com site is down.
Any idea whassup with Peter & Henny?

I hope someone can chime in! I was thinking about this pair yesterday…
Maybe he’s broken or retired? Doesn’t seem like he’s competed in at least a year. It happens, especially to horses competing at that level. Or maybe Peter’s got something going on that’s taking priority over riding and competing.
I just spent a fruitless five minutes trying to find anything current about Peter OR Henny. Obviously they’re not at Rolex. I’m wondering who Peter is riding at all right now - what is he up to? I can’t even find an Atkins Eventing website which I thought I’d been to before. Looking at my “Run Henny Run” autographed ball cap and feeling worried!

I tried looking him up on Equestrian Australia and can’t find anything. No horses registared or him listed as coach. Only mention was in an article about him at Badminton last year where he didn’t finish.
Perhaps EN could find out for us??

Watching them on the Rolex cross country course was a highlight for me a few years back. What a fun and committed team!

Peter was in New England as usual into late Autumn; I rode with him at the very end of October and my recollection is that he mentioned being about to pack up and head south with Henny for the winter. I don’t remember anything unusual past that but I don’t know that I asked!

I kind of remember that possibly Henny and Peter never completely came back to their old form after Henny’s colic and Peter’s injury. They were on their way, but after Peter’s injury there doesn’t seem to be any more information.
Hope all is well with them and their family. Maybe someone at Rolex can suss out more info?
Don’t need anything terribly personal … just a status check on health & well-being. 
Pretty sure Peter winters in Florida and summers in VT where his wife is from. No word about Henny but Peter teaches regularly and his wife competes.

I was just checking around for him and Henny, too. While the Run Henny Run FB page is still devoid of any posts since last fall, I did just now find this post from June 30th on his Atkins Eventing FB page, but this is all it said:
“I’m headed to Lexington KY next week for the rest of the summer, if you are in the area and want lessons e mail me.”

I miss seeing those helmet cam videos.
I (nobody in particular, but a semi-regular student) asked him yesterday; he said he and Henny are spending the summer in Lexington, though he’s still coming to New England to teach with at least some frequency. He seemed well.

Very much a side note, but my husband and I brought a 3-year-old Dutch harness horse gelding this spring whose show name is Habor Pilot and barn name, Henry. We both have caught ourselves calling him Henny, and I know it’s because we loved the “Henny” video from Rolex! So every time I call Henry Henny, I think of Peter and his Henny!

Peter and Henry are both doing well! He has plans for Henry’s return in the next year if all goes to plan Henry is looking great and ready to get back at it!!

I wonder if Peter realized he developed a following that was interested not because they were going for the Olympics, but because of the interest in his relationship with Henny. Keep the cards n letters coming, Peter! :winkgrin:
