Shocking news! I am so incredibly sad to read this. His family from afar here on COTH will miss him, but we are grateful to have watched you give him such a lovely, if short, life.

What a difficult situation. You did the best you could by him, and his last year plus he was getting loved and he had a major glow up.

And even at the end, you did right by him because unsafe horses are unsafe. I’m heartbroken for you and the pony jock (but glad pony jock has her own very willing and lovely pony now).

OMG I am sooooo sorry it turned out this way. He had such a great life with you and pony jock, even if only for a short while. My deepest condolences to you both.

I am so sorry for the loss of your Henry. You did such a wonderful job transforming him into a handsome, talented fellow. But most of all, he came to know love through your great care.

Like everyone else, I will miss updates on the Spotted Hony of COTH. Thank you for sharing his story with us, even though it was a short one.

It feels so inadequate to say I’m sorry, but I truly am. This one hits hard.

Thank you for sharing this portion of sweet Henry’s life with us, and for helping him to become the best Henry he could be.

Wishing a bit of peace for you, the pony jock, and all the others who treasured him.

I couldn’t post immediately after I read your update.

I was absolutely devastated by news of a horse I had never met; and people I have only met in passing.

I am completely sure, that you, @2bayboys, made exactly the right decision. I am also sure that a benevolent force in the universe made sure that Henry lived the last year of his life in your care, being loved by you and the GRK, and that you guided the course of his last days.

I am still heartbroken.

I did not expect to read such a shocking update. So very sad for all concerned to have something like this happen. He was the coolest of dudes, I’m glad you polished that diamond, made a lot of us realize what we might overlook in a pasture!

RIP Henry, you were admired by many.

OMG. Me too, I couldn’t respond right off. I’ve seen a few horses turn dangerous. Not mine but others’.
I’ve had the hard injuries. Two in a row back in my 20’s. Sometimes it is a shit business. Then I go hug a horse that needs a hug and a better life. It’s who we are.

Let peace walk with you.

I came to this thread hoping to hear anything but this :hushed:
@2bayboys know you gave Henry the best Life he could have ever had.
Too short for us, but enough.
I’m glad your Ponyjock has her own now to ease the pain a bit.
{HUGS} to you both

I’m so sorry to hear this happened and you needed to make this decision.

you gave Henry a life he never would have had, and granted him compassion at his tragic, too soon end. No one could do more and few would have done as much.

I’m so sorry for your loss.
