Heraldik Sons?

re: Mighty Magic semen

I have a few doses and I think that the importer also has some in stock.

I have two MM foals on the ground and really like them a lot.

So in return for this info I want some inside details on what MM is like!

Re: Mighty Magic. What would you like to know and I will ask DD and get back to you. I know some about him, but she has first hand, or seat LOL, info.

CB, like Tuppy’s Mom sez, Sara can give you details about what MM is like since she regularly rides (and really likes) him @ Dibo’s.

Hunter’s owner Wendy is wonderful to work with. It is a major bummer that his semen doesn’t ship because I love him and do not have a good frozen semen vet in my area. Next year, I may send a mare out to breed with frozen.

Ditto. I’m becoming board-lined obsessed with him! jk

Here’s Eric Lamaze riding Herald 3 earlier this month. Absolutely breathtaking![/QUOTE]

Right there w/you on obsession w/this one. Anyone have a pedigree link? I have a very good mare I’d like to breed to him.

Pedigree table at the bottom of this link.

Dan

I’m considering breeding a heraldyk mare to cruising but could do hickstead, provided the heart issue is not genetic. I haven’t seen a heraldyk x cruising foal but morningstar did a lot of ekstein (damsire of hickstead) x herka (sister of heraldik) matings. I haven’t seen the show results on any of those babies…maybe I can join the lamaze stalking club and ask himself what he’d think of hickstead x heraldik…good pretense to speak to him, no?

Surprised no one’s mentioned Ekwador, gorgeous Olympic dressage horse (Poland), who also excelled as a young jumper and seems to be a proven sire.

http://luxesporthorses.com/high_knight.html This one is in Canada. Isn’t there a Meraldik in Germany that is related? I thought I saw some video of him online somewhere.

High Knight is no longer a stallion. Meraldik is stil intact, but not breeding at the moment (competition horse). He is out of Herka xx, Heraldik’s full sister.

Do you know who imports his semen? And if he is EVA negative?

Multiple people have inquired about Ekwador semen, but no response… I would love to get some…

This Heraldik son is in Canada. Didn’t have much information about him or if he’s standing on the website. I am pretty sure I saw one named Meraldik somewhere online - who is in Germany and is a son or close relative. Couldn’t find it just now online. They are such nice horses – glad to see them used here. What has Hunter produced – anything under saddle yet. What is their temperment like?

Penny, Maren said above that High Knight is no longer a stallion, and Meraldik is still intact but not available for breeding.

Does anyone know anything about Hosco (Heraldik xx/Silvester)? I see he is listed in the Holsteiner Verband stallion directory for this year, but I do not know anything else about him.

I found a video of him here:

Looks like an interesting stallion.

It’s DownYonder (not Down Under).

A friend of mine inquired some years back about frozen semen from Poland, but after speaking with several breeders there, we learned that not very many Polish stallions are frozen for export because the SOs cannot justify the cost - i.e., it costs a certain amount to quarantine the stallion, collect him, freeze him, etc., and they do not believe they would sell enough frozen to make it worth their while. We also were told that much of the breeding base there is EVA positive, and very few SOs even test their stallions.

Has anyone called the Holsteiner Verband about Ekwador? I have the impression that they take a great deal of interest in Holsteiners worldwide and would be surprised if they were not keeping good track of this one.

There is also Hosco. http://www.hengststation-geling.de/deutsch/holsteiner_hengst_hosco.html

Sorry about the double post – I didn’t think the first one worked.

Here’s some video of one of Hunter’s sons, Happenstance, now 6 years old and competing successfully across 3 disciplines - dressage, jumping, and 3 day. in 2012, he will be competing in dressage and jumping. Happenstance was the Reserve West Coast Champion in the USEA 5 year old Young Event Horse Competition. I own this horse and he has a superlative, willing temperament - just like his sire, Hunter ( a son of Heraldik) .
