Heraldik Sons?

Brainstorming!!! Anyone know of Heraldik sons standing at sons? (Bonus points if you can provide a link to their website.)

I’d love to breed to a son of Heraldik, but since they are approved in various different registries I’m having a tough time coming up with a comprehensive list of choices!

Hunter - standing in CA - www.w2holsteiners.com

Hunter does look really nice. Unfortunately I’m a little gun shy that there is no video available for him, ever, or offspring… A little jumpy about breeding to a stallion whom I will never see walk, trot, or canter, much less jump.

Anyone have experience with him? Or others? (I’m in the US)

Do a search on this forum. Someone has developed a pretty comprehensive list.
They do have a few foal photos for Hunter on the W2 website. Maybe they send out CDs?

Wendy Webster is very easy to talk to, and she can tell you all you need to know about Hunter. I am sure she has some pics and video too.

Herald 3 is a son - he is ridden by Eric Lamaze.

Mighty Magic is out of a Heraldik Daughter

Royaldik is out of the full sister of Heraldik

I think the other posts above have about covered it. Someone here confirmed on another thread that Herald 3 will be competing and not standing at stud this year, but may be available in the future.

The only one not mentioned is one I discovered earlier this week: Hyperion – standing in Germany but apparently available in at least Canada (not sure about whether they can ship to the U.S.) though Mariposa Sporthorses. I’ve not been able to find much else about him, however.

Here is the link:

The only additional info I’ve been able to find out about Hyperion is that he is, or was, evented by Frank Ostholt.

Any news on when Herald 3 may be available? Seems like from this thread his owners weren’t interested in standing him. Sigh.

I dug a little deeper and was able to find some video on Hyperion. Apparently there were discussions about selling him to a young rider from Hong Kong for the 2010 Asian games. There is a letter from her mother posted on the internet soliciting donations to buy the horse, which contains links to otherwise non-searchable YouTube videos of the stallion doing dressage, stadium, and a hunter-derby type cross-country schooling session with the young rider: http://www.hkef.org/cgi-bin/display/media_corner_display.cgi?content=271 The video links are at the bottom of the letter.

The letter is interesting itself for a number of reasons (just read it); also interesting is the cross-country schooling facility in the videos (which presumably is in Germany), which packs a variety of jumps into a small-ish set of adjoining arenas. It looks like it may even be in an urban area.

I met Wendy and she was nice enough to show Hunter, a 2 year old son and 3 daughters to me back in October 2011. They were all 2 years old to 5 years old. She had Hunter free jump a little also. I like him a lot, PM me if you have any specific questions you would like answered. My fiance tried to take a video of him but it didn’t turn out well because of the lighting and he was using his phone to video.

I also was able to find jumping footage of him on youtube under the title 'Hunter v Heraldik". Do a search and it should come up, I can’t seem to access youtube right now.

Ditto. I’m becoming board-lined obsessed with him! jk

Here’s Eric Lamaze riding Herald 3 earlier this month. Absolutely breathtaking!

Hi - So I am posting on Wendy Webster’s behalf about her lovely boy, the Heraldik son Hunter. I also helped her with her website, which is a work in progress so the feedback is welcome. She does have video - we are going to try to get it onto the website asap but do contact her any time if you have questions or want to learn more about Hunter.

I say based on my time spent with Hunter that he has that “special” presence. He is polite and a true gentleman but by no means is he a dud - quite the opposite. His confo is correct, he has good bone, a lovely eye, and wonderful movement. I have also come to know several of his offspring and all are top quality and inherit their father’s fantastic qualities.

Unfortunately, Hunter is no longer in sport. Here is what Wendy asked me to post:
Hunter’s career as a sport horse
ended in 2006 when he contracted an incurable lung infection.
While he remains healthy enough to perform on farm breeding
duties his semen is not able to withstand the rigors of overnight
shipment. His frozen semen remains a viable alternative and has
produced multiple offspring in Germany and the USA.

If you have any questions or wish to know more, please don’t hesitate to contact Wendy directly (www.w2holsteiners.com) and I am happy to answer any questions as I am able via PM. Thanks!

Hunter v Heraldik

Did you end up seeing any video of Hunter? I feel the same way about not being able to see him move or jump. I’m very interested in Heraldik bloodlines too.

Does anyone have any Mighty Magic frozen that they don’t plan to use??

My DD is in Germany and rides MM on a regular basis. She is in want of a MM of her very own!

Love him! do we know who owns him? Is there a link?

Artisan Farms owns him. He was purchased strictly as a competition horse for the owners daughter, who trains with Eric.
