Herd Dispersal - Section B Welsh Pony

I am not associated with these people in any way. Just thought some here might be interested.

Beautiful ponies. Hope they all get good homes.

I really like the mare Evans Mercy.

A local trainer and friend of mine, Sarah Kress, had Evans Providence of the Night in training a while back. He is a super nice stallion in conformation, ability and temperament. If I had a place to keep a stallion I would bid on him for sure. I really like the look of some of their young stock, but hopefully the prices go out of my range quickly:winkgrin:, since I don’t need another mouth to feed.

I’ll be curious to see what kind of prices they sell for. Hopefully they bid out of my range too.

Bidding has opened. Looks like they are all at a starting bid of $500, but all have a reserve price.

Times like this I wish I was made of money. I don’t need a pony. I don’t need a pony. I don’t need a pony. But I WANT A PONY!

ETA: They removed the reserve price on some of the ponies. Could be a great opportunity to get an awesome pony at an awesome price!

I want a pony too…

Kathleen has been raising lovely welsh ponies for many, many years. I hope she has a spectacular sale and all of her ponies find great new homes! I understand she is changing directions with her program and I wish her the best of luck!

And now I want a pony too…

Some of the ponies no longer have a reserve.

I’ve been watching (JUST watching!) this sale and noticed that Tigress CFP (Lot 26) hasn’t received any bids so far. Looks like a really cute mare to me. Her 2015 filly is up to nearly $3000, so people are liking her baby. Am I missing something? Maybe it’s because she apparently hasn’t been started under saddle?

I’m watching very closely too, (not just watching) and wondered the same thing. Maybe it is because she is half TB? None of them have been started undersaddle, and most of the mares have been bred, although not confirmed in foal.

Prices still not very good at all. Hopefully everyone is waiting to jump in at the last minute.

Online auctions tend not to bring high prices for the sellers. It can end up being a buyers market for the buyers…if there are no reserves.

So glad this is on the West Coast or I’d have to cut my hands off to keep from bidding. I want another large pony!

There aren’t any large ponies that I have been able to find in that auction. The biggest seems to be 13.2. I think the shipping out may be an issue as well. They are in a remote area of Oregon.

RS Hearts of Gold is a pretty palomino half-Arab mare used as an outcross and is 14.2 according to the listing. Would be a very nice endurance horse for a junior I am sure.

These are Section B ponies. That is their max height.

13.2 HH is only the maximum height for Section B Welsh Riding ponies in the United Kingdom. In Canada, maximum height is 14.0 HH and they can be as high as 14.2 HH in the U.S. That being said, the breeders stock is mostly imported UK stock…hence why many of them are 13.2 HH and under.

Several 2 year olds are at 13.2, so I would assume they are going to grow. I think the Mirabeau stallion is 14.2 and there are many by him in the sale.
