He's Lame.....now what

The smartest dumb velcro pup is gimping.

Help or commiserate please…

Last night in his ever dogged “Play with Me” dance Polo self started, flipped his toy across the room and charged after it.
I heard the crash and scream and there he stood shaking, refusing to put the left hind down.
I waited.
3legged himself onto the carpet and stood, more shaking.
10PM at night, of course.

I went to him and scratched his head, very slight flinch.
Reach for the leg, he turns to watch my hand.

No blood, has all his nails, no big reactions.
No broken bones, no reaction to flexion. No heat or knots.

I give him a pat, tell him to be careful and walk away.
90 seconds later he jumps onto the couch and conks out on that side.

Gimping on and off, and tore up the house screaming at the sprinkler and lawn guys. All day today.

Now there’s heat and general swelling.

At this point I’m comfortable calling it a bruise or a pull and waiting it out.

yay or nay ??

Unless it’s a very obvious injury, my go to is ice/heat as called for & crate rest (or tethered to me) for a few days.
If it gets better, keep on that path.
If same or worse, off to vet for further evaluation.
