Hickstead's height?

I too have seen him at Spruce (when I had one of my horses competing there) He is not over 16h. 15.3 would be quite close; if he were sticked.

Amazing horse for SURE!!![/QUOTE]

Perhaps this will be the start of a new trend in jumper breeding!!!

It certainly looks that way when you see what horses have been at the top recently. Maybe not necessarily short, but the Cumano types are certainly becoming rarer and rarer (not to dis Cumano, he can come hang out at my barn as long as he wants).

When you look at the courses, airy, super flat cups, light rails that go down with just a toe nail on them…the successful horses are going to be the scopey cat like ones. Hickstead, Cedric, etc. If they continue to build courses like this breeding will certainly go in this direction, hey?

At Spruce last year, the commentators said he was “barely bigger than a pony”! My mare is 15-3 and he’s around the same size as her (when standing close by), so I’d put him at 15-2 to 15-3 (love me that small horse and what I wouldn’t give to breed my mare to him!)

I saw him at Spruce up close. He is the same height as my stallion.
He is DEFINITELY 15.3hh…
And just another note… there was another smaller horse that did VERY well at Olympics as well. I think his name was Itot de Chateau or something like that. That horse also was only 15.2hh. Just goes to show you what small compact horses are capable of. They turn faster, and don’t take as long in the air. Bigger is not always better!

It’s true! A lot of up and coming stars are rather small!
People see them and wanna make fun until they see them jump! lol Never under estimate the little guy!

15.3 is my favourite height.
