Hide Rubs/Shallow Wounds what do you use?

Thank you guys. I’m holding on the spray on bandage because our brand new baby (3 yo) hasn’t learned about spray yet. We are working on it, but he isn’t at the point I’m ready to spray a rub on a leg.

@Leather @ryansgirl I wonder if it is similar. The stuff I have is very thick and dark, but it does have a sulphur smell to it. It really is amazing how quickly they heal with it.

I might get a couple different things to try. I have diaper rash cream and a ton of neosporin. It might just depend on how big an area I have to cover.

I use alushield on most stuff. For girth rubs and hock sores, and similar, I use gall salve. But, a lot of times, I use nothing.

Alushield for most small wounds. I have used Preparation H to regrow hair once the skin is healed. If I have a scab or dry flaky area I want to soften I use a Triple Antibiotic ointment.

On rubs where the skin is not or only slightly broken from a rub, I use Skin Glde. It’s silicone, not greasy, and prevents the rub from happening. Otherwise I use Aluspray of silver sulfoxide cream, depending on location, size, etc.

I usually go straight for corona

Gall salve for cinch rubs or hock sores.

Dermagel or Tri Care Ointment for the rest. Dermagel for the more serious cuts and scrapes, Tri care for everything else.

I just started using skin glide for my horse last year and I love it! He used to chafe in his “armpit” wrinkles, but not anymore!

After just going through an awful wound and worrying about hair growth, I rotated Dermagel and Corona depending on how the scab was acting that day. So far, the hair is coming back nicely. I also brushed the scab daily (with a toothbrush) so it wouldn’t get thick and itchy, then applied gunk of the day.
