I saw a few posts on this but they are all from several years ago and as fashion tends to change from year to year as far as what’s available… any ladies out there that have any high waisted riding breeches or tights that aren’t hot to wear in the summer? It seems like most everything is low to mid rise. I need to get a couple new pairs of breeches, more schooling than showing since we aren’t quite ready to show yet. At this point I think I’m going to go try to find a pair of that high-waisted “shaper” underwear too to see if that helps control this new fluff I’ve picked up over the winter  until I can lose it!
I love Horseware riding tights for schooling and even yoga. They are high waisted, shape compressing, and have great side pockets. I wish they would make gray and navy ones.
I just got a pair of Cavaliere Couture riding tights and they are cool (almost a little too cool for spring riding here!), have a pretty decent degree of compression, and are higher waisted than my other pairs. I’m pretty impressed!
I have regular fits and schooling tights and they are both high waisted. Also tropical rider has high waisted, can’t get much cooler than their endurocool.
I have a pair of SmartPak Piper breeches in mid-rise that practically go up to my arm pits , so that’s an option you can try.
Kerrits Ice til tights are super high waisted on me and awesome in hot weather.
I have the Horze Diana breeches, and I LOVE them.
Thank you guys so much! I just ordered a pair of the Horseware tights, so I will see how those fit. Figure I can go down the list and see what works best!
Update: my Horseware tights came in, i tried them on last night and OMG they are so comfy and light, I think even lighter than the Kerrits tights! I haven’t ridden in them yet but they definitely go up higher which is fantastic. Only thing that might be an issue is I got the tan ones and the material is pretty thin so I’ll need to get some good seamless underwear  I love the side pockets though. I think I’ll get a pair of the cavalieres next and compare.
Oh yes! Do that! Then I can see what you say and decide if I want to buy a pair of the Horseware!
Horze B Vertigo has high waisted breech… https://www.horze.com/full-seat-breeches/b-vertigo-rachel-womens-full-seat-high-waist-breeches/36584.html
I know everyone’s body shape is different and descriptions are open to interpretation.
Here is my situation: I am long bodied, average leg length, 5’9" size 12-14 jeans. I am forever in search of good breeches. I like a higher waisted breech or tight. My favorite breeches right now are the Horze Grand Prix, BUT I want another inch of rise. I also have the Horze Desiree, I LOVE the high waisted part, but due to my being long waisted and their fit, they are the one breech I’ve worn that tends to head north on my body rather than dropping and I find the pressure of the frontal wedgie to be a bit irritating. I keep seeing ads on facebook for Sync equestrian tights that look like a good compromise for not being super high rise, they look stretchy, and don’t look shiny (God I had shiny). But at $113 for tights? Seriously, can they be that good? Anyone have them and love them? I was thinking of the black on black vipers.
I’m just going to say it–low waisted breeches are a scam and I hate them
