Hind Gut Supplements - ADR vs. SmartDigest Ultra - Anyone?

I have a 16 year old OTTB. We recently put him on ADR supplement (formerly Dr. Bill’s Foal Pac) and the difference in just the two weeks he has been on it is amazing. His ribs are starting to go away and overall feeling better. Right now he gets 1 scoop 2x to help his system. The feeding directions state only 1/2 a scoop a day. Has anyone just dont 1/2 a scoop with success?

My other question would be has anyone switched from ADR to SmartDigest? Or even used SmartDigest?

My wallet is getting overloaded with expense and I’m looking to cut costs. If I stay at the current rations SmartDigest is much much cheaper and overall the same ingredients are present.

Any suggestions? Reviews? Thoughts?

I have had good results with the SmartDigest Ultra on several horses who had consistent loose poo or gas. It definitely does more to clear things up than just probiotics alone. The powder form is very palatable - and cheaper than the pellets. I have no experience with ADR so I can’t give you a comparison, sorry.

I’ve never used ADR, but I have used SmartDigest Ultra very successfully on my Thoroughbred and SmartDigest on my little mini gelding with great success.

No experience with ADR, but have used SmartDigest Ultra successfully in several horses. They also like the taste, so they clean it up.

You may also want to add Succeed to your list of options. My vet highly recommends it (as well as the SmartPak products), and I just started the Succeed Challenge with my mare this weekend (try for 60 days - money back if you aren’t satisfied, but read the requirements carefully).
