Update: word is a group of Danish breeders are working together to purchase him… happy ending!
I don’t know any details, but I have heard this guy has been passed around a lot. Hoping he can find a place to land for the rest of his life.

According to the link provided, he has a less than ideal disposition.
I popped back into the forums for the first time in months after seeing news on FB that poor Cobra One was listed in an internet auction…
it seems like a number of reputable folks have taken an interest in the situation and are trying to find a way to achieve a soft landing for him.
I thought I would come onto the forums though, and mention that another elderly “hard luck” stallion - High Five WW - was in the possession of the same person “she is in NC or SC I believe) who apparently just put Cobra One up for auction… there were some photos of him on FB at some place called “Mocha Ranch”… but no other news, except for a different post on here about the old guy being offered live cover locally in that area at the beginning of 2020.
From other threads related to Ryan Hall, and the whole mess that happened when she was “managing” both Cobra One and High Five during her time in Oklahoma… some comments were made about High Five being a bit of a challenging older stallion personality wise to have on property… the comment I vaguely recollect was something about him getting anxious/aggressive when he caught sight of other stallions on that farm. He also reportedly has an old bowed tendon that requires some care. Neither are impossible issues… but both seem best managed by professional horse folks who have experience with breeding stallions…
I decided to jump in on this thread and mention him now, because it’s a bit concerning that Cobra One has just been listed in the internet auction. All reports I saw a year or two ago when the whole situation with these horses, and Ryan, and the farms in Oklahoma and Iowa were discussed seemed to indicate that Cobra One was the easier of the two older boys to manage. He’s actually apparently still rideable (there are a variety of videos of him under saddle on FB - a few with Ryan and one as recently as winter of last year - and to Cobra’s credit, he truly does seem to be quite a lovely gentleman under saddle, considering he’s a teenaged breeding stallion who has been bounced around to multiple unfortunate situations over the course of a few years - a sad way to learn that a horse has a really solid character and good mind I guess…).
Anyway… I just thought I’d raise the concern about what has happened to High Five WW as well on this thread. Maybe the owner and small farm in the Carolinas is fine for his retirement if he is the only boy on property… but if Cobra One is in need of a new home, it makes me wonder what has become of a High Five.
Hopefully they both end up with the sort of retirement/permanent home they deserve, and it’s a quiet and happy final home for each of them.
