The post times are, yes, usually local time but one would need to know which track, where it was and its associated time zone. I would, yes, hope that all our gentle readers on this forum would know that but was erring on the side of making sure
Was fun to watch the Holy Bull, along with the Withers and the end of the Robert B Lewis yesterday. Due to a glitch at work, had an unusual Saturday off and made the most of it.
Also the Sweetest Chant at Gulfstream. Almost had the triple until Okinawa backed up in the stretch when giving up the lead. Appeared the rail was slow, so used that in betting the Holy Bull, and at least cashed a win ticket.
I loved Irish War Cry’s attitude before AND after the race. He sure knows who he is. Although his daddy seemed to have a quieter attitude, he sure reminded me of him.
And then I read up on his owner. Fascinating Isabelle de Tomaso was married to the automobile creator de Tomaso, having met him through her own racecar driving exploits. Her family helped fund his car business. Her maiden name being Haskell, as in the stakes. And her father helped bring parimutuel betting back to NJ, and to rebuild Monmouth Park. An article from 2015 says she races with her sister, Hope Haskell Jones. Their ages at the time were 85 and 81.
Would love to see another Mrs. Genter scene on KD day.
Although El Areeb really put everyone else away in The Withers.
And so it begins.
Unique Bella in the Las Virgenes put away Champaign Room and Mopotism with easy.
She is a beast… wonder where she will be pointed next. Hollendorfer sounded like meeting the boys this year wasn’t really a specific objective.
