Holstein #1 again

Rankings are out and Holstein is the #1 ranked jumping studbook again.

SF has the #1 ranked Horse…Holstein #2 and #3 . Amazing production from Holstein and France considering they breed WAY less horses than the KWPN.

I have a registered Holsteiner mare with SF lines… Best of both worlds I guess?

Yes ! These two breeds are DOMINATING the showjumping world. Even when a top horse is not registered Holsteiner or SF , they are likely sired by one or the other.

Congrats!

I saw that last week! Congrats to the Holsteiners!

W ONE DERFUL!!!

ONEcent (LOL)

Holsteiner breeders deserve being #1 for jumpers.

Absolutely Andy. They do an amazing job while breeding a fraction of the mares of most other studbooks.

I’m going to try a mare with Quick Star next spring. Have some semen in Holstein.

Interesting, great for Holsteiners! I have a 3 yr. Old filly by a QDR son out of a Contendro mare and am hoping she turns out nicely.

Fantastic! I’m planning to use Diamant de Semilly on my Calido x Cassini I filly in the spring!

Bayhawk, you are a lucky breeder by having Quick Star semen available. I’m sure that he will be a SF perfect match to a Holsteiner mare.
Sad that it took so long before QS was recognized as a super sire.

Mallrat7777, Diamant de Semilly was successful as a sire at a very young age, and didn’t disappointed the breeders who used him.

QS will be a perfect fit for the strong Holsteiner mare and DdS will be best used with mares that are not too “material”.

Looking at the post on the stallion test in the US, I’m surprised there isn’t even 1 SF presented.

Andy,

There might not be a SF because we didn’t have a registry here in the US for awhile. They just started a new one this year. So years out, I think you will see some go to the 70 Day test.

Lucky indeed Andy. I think I have the perfect mare for him from a super motherline and she has much frame , long legs and a very good mind.

I think this is very interesting Jenny ! Good luck !

Holsteiner-SF-Hanoverian crosses

We are expecting a Liocalyon - Quick Star foal in 2013. The Quick Star mare looks and jumps very much like her sire and has a Hanoverian dam going back to Grande and Pik Bube. Should be an interesting foal.

This year we have a filly by Cunningham (Cassini-Contender) out of a Jupiter (by Zeus (SF)) mare. Jupiter’s damline is E line Hanoverian going back to Einglas. She is tall and leggy with an amazing canter and quick reflexes. And she is gorgeous dark bay with star and strip and two half socks, and has a face/head shape like Rosalia LS (Cunningham’s full sister).

Congrats!!! What a great achievement for Holsteiner breeders!!
