Holsteiner Michelangelo get and grandget

Michelangelo by Manchester out of Fulde by Ladykiller. as opposed to the Trakehner Michelangelo

So anybody who knew Michelangelo knows that he was…tough. I don’t really know if that was just him or more due to environmental factors, if you will.

I have not been around any of his offspring. I am curious about what type of mares were used with him and what the foals came out like.

As far as grand get go, if the direct offspring were also difficult, did the grand get retain these qualities too? Obviously this would depend on the type of mare/stallion used and of course other factors. But as a general rule…

TIA!

Hi, I was wondering if you have any pictures or info on the holstiener stallion Michaelangelo. I am seriously looking at a mare to purchase but can’t seem to find any info on him other than his pedigree. Any help or information you might be willing to share would be awesome. T., Strides

My Holsteiner gelding is by Ariadus and the dam sire is Michelangelo/Manchester. I know nothing about the dam other than her breeding. Her name is Lavender, her dam was Zase by Calme.

i would love to hear in what way(s) Michelangelo was tough. My gelding is sweet and very friendly, never in a bad mood. But man can he buck. And bolt. He is extremely athletic and smart. He picks up new things fast and there is no need to re-teach him anything. He was shown 3rd level this past summer and is schooling
4th. Nothing seems difficult for him, with lateral work and canter being his forte.
Back to the bucking and bolting. In a familiar environment he is generally ok. His issue is that he is ultra reactive to his surroundings. At a show he is challenging. That’s an understatement, but I’m at a loss for the right word.
