I am interested in both of these stallions and would love some further information. Where does one research Verband stallions?
Catoo just won the Bundeschampionat for 4 year olds in dressage ! His mother is also grandmother to siegerhengste Canto.
Nekton is an incredible stallion.
Holsteiner verband website has all the info
I did not think Nekton was avaliable via frozen semen for the US. Has this changed?

When I looked into using him that is what I was told. However, maybe it has changed?
Let’s hope!
Nekton is a Verband stallion, so only Karen Reid can get it.

Yes, that is who I contacted, but perhaps I misunderstood, or he is available now?
Her isn’t on her list of in-stock stallions, but perhaps she can bring him over in her next shipment?
Karen said she will have Nekton & Catoo available.

Fantastic! How much for Nekton frozen? Any news on post thaw motility?
There were some nice foals by Catoo at the foal championships for Schleswig Flensburg this summer. http://www.youtube.com/user/MattGDavis?feature=mhee#p/u/8/Kosf1dppZMc
Thanks Matt! BEAUTIFUL foals!
I find that this video is also a great example of the differences between N.A. and Europe: foals of the year shown with their dams, unbraided, unclipped… Just clean dams with well-fitted bridles.
Heck, if that were the way to do it here, I’d also take every single one of my foals out in their first year.
From the grassroots, everything seems so much more accessible.

I think it is ridiculous for inspections. The foals are scored on type and movement. They sure don’t need to be braided , clipped and bathed for this 2 minute judgement.
Also notice that they don’t have a “uniform” look. Jeans, whatever to show the horses.
Have 2 Nekton granddaughters
We have two coming three year old Nekton granddaughters. One is out of a Telstar (Nimmerdor, Follywise) dam and the other is out of a Cabaret, Brentano II dam. We are very pleased with both mares. They both have tremendous uphill movement and wonderful conformation. They are on our website at www.carbondalefarms.com if you would care to take a peek!
