Holstiener/Tb broodmare

I have been offered this broodmare, and I was wondering if anyone would like to chime in on her pedigree. I am breeding to produce event horses and thought adding a little WB would be a nice addition. I am a Tb person through and through, so dont want to produce anything less than 1/2 Tb. Preferably 3/4 Tb

thanks

Ramiro Z is a very well known Holsteiner - throws a GREAT canter.

Nearco in TB - all I know is my 1/2 Tb Swedish mare has Nearco in her lineage and she throsw babies that can jump and do dressage (bearing in mind the stallion is very nice also).

Best unusual thing she has going for her is Double Life, who was the dam of Furioso’s sire.

Wow-she has some “old” blood up close-hyperion in the 4th generation.

The motherline of the father is one of the best to be found , Holsteiner stamm 776. The mother of the stallion is currently grandmother to two international jumpers by Canturo / Corrado I / Moltke / Marlon xx / Logenshliesser… They are Conte and Canturada.

Ramiro is also bred by the same breeder stamm 776. So you have the father being crossed back on the stamm 776 thru father and mother. Could be very prepotent genetics.

I personally know the Moltke mother. Her breeders are friends of mine.

Hyperion is also in the 5th and 6th generation (Alibhai is by Hyperion).
Love the Thoroughbreds, too!

thanks for the information! I figured she was well bred, just love hearing what people have to say about the bloodlines. I am starting to understand TB lines pretty well, but WB lines are still really new to me.

the top half of the pedigree is as good as it gets genetically speaking. Don;t know anything about the bottom. You’ll have to get TKR or Equilibrium to analyze that for ya.

I’ve wondered what became of that stallion. Did he ever compete or do anything in Canada?
Rappelzapple’s mother, Ira II is also the mother of Hoya (by Corrado), who is the mother of Conte (della Caccia) and Canturada, like Bayhawk mentioned, but also Concerado (now in the US and doing the AO’s) and the mare Meike, who has several offspring in the US but is also the mother of several young horses moving up in the 1.40m’s.
Ira II is also the mother of Lysander, Lauritz J, Koriander (all approved sons), international jumper Tatjana, and the mare Orama, who is the mother of Lord Incipit.
I don’t know much about the TB side.

I cant find any information on Rappelzappel himself, except the write-up that OSJS had on him. I dont know where he is now?

vineyridge, what do you think of the rest of her tb line? Lots of big names, but I dont know the breakdown on them and what they produced.

I had a horse by Aldershot by Alibhai back in the day. He went Advanced eventing under the name of “Jack of Spades”. All the Aldershots could jump.
Local horse in BC.

There is something fishy about the AllBreed pedigree.

There are two Mares with JC pedigrees who are from the same era with very similar names and very different pedigrees.

One is the 1977 Artic Peace. That’s the name of the mare on Allbreed, but this mare is by Never Never out of Artic War. This mare is an Indian bred.

The other is ARCTIC Peace. She’s a 1980 model and has the sire and dam that is on the Allbreed pedigree.

I’m guessing your dam is Arctic Peace, who was bred in British Columbia. She had six or seven TB foals, the last on my 1995 APR in 1991, all in British Columbia. She had six starts and was unplaced, and the last foals on my APR sold for pitiful amounts, but the sire averages were also very low. Although I have no idea what the average BC price was in the early 1990’s. Her sire also stood in BC.

Miss Judicate had foals in the US before she was sent to BC. She’s listed as an Australian import on Pedigree Query. The JC says she was foaled in Kentucky, but I’ve learned that the JC sometimes makes mistakes on origins. They do say she was an import and her parents were never exported, so my thinking is that this is a JC mistake.

Australian horses are pretty much terra incognito to me unless they have produced big names in eventing.

The woman that owns the Roura Zee had her dam. I havent seen her papers, but she said Artic Peace’s sire was CROQUEMITAINE and dam MISS JUDICATE. She is BC bred as far as I know

That means her JC registered name is ArCtic Peace.
