Has anyone stayed in this housing while showing in Ocala? I can’t find it on the facility map, so I’m wondering where they are? Can we walk to the barns, or is it better to get a golf cart?
I am not sure where the “Home Away from Home” units are located. They were not open when we were there in February. However, regardless of where you stay or where your barn is located, a golf cart (or some mechanized means of transportation) is a necessity in my mind. WEC Ocala is a monster.
They didn’t have them when I was there, but I stay in them regularly in Wilmington. I didn’t know they were putting them in there? Golf carts are a plus but on cold days in Ocala I actually just drove the car around and it was fine.
@fancy.pants I called them this week and asked about them. They are not on the facility map because they are a mile or two down the road. So very close, but you’d still have to drive, you can’t take a golf cart on the road that gets you there. We found golf carts to be essential on property though, even just to get around within the facility. It is a massive place!
HomeS away from home250/day. Golf carts 85/day.
To those that were at WEC this winter - does the hotel look like it will be open for 2022?
Yes, I believe June 1, 2021, is the stated opening date for the “Equestrian Hotel.”
.
Yes they are taking reservations now for dates starting in June, and you can see room types and rates on their website. And sometime in the last few days, they jacked all the rates up by an extra $100/night, presumably now that the summer series prize list is out. So it is now around $400/night at the hotel.
So, we stayed at the Home Away From Home last weekend. Brand new, 2 miles down the road, and great with dogs! Two Bedrooms, two bathrooms and a pull out couch. Kitchen, living room. I highly recommend them, and if the hotel rooms are going for $400, a MUCH better deal!
What are the rates for the HAFH?
Nevermind I found them online.
Disappointed that the hotel room descriptions don’t tell you what your view is.
The way the hotel is laid out, there are really only two choices for views, arena views (which are broken out on the website as a specific booking category – arena view king, arena view double queen, etc . . . ) and standard rooms After seeing the hotel under construction, it looks like one side of the hotel is arena view and all of the others are on the opposite side of the hotel, which would face the chapel and the outdoor hunter and jumper rings (though unclear how much you could see and how much is blocked by the tree canopy in that area of the property). I did not see any wing or section of the hotel that would have an alternative view, and if it did, it would be the barns based on the property layout. The people on the phone reservations line are very pleasant and happy to field questions if you need more details or have a particular concern.
Good to know!! How was the wifi signal in them?
