Hoof/horse care riding in Calcium Chloride

I’m getting ready to move my horses over to a new barn. The B/O says they put Calcium Chloride down to melt the snow and ice. Talking to a third person she was against riding in it because she says all winter long I’ll have to wash, oil and condition the horse’s legs and hooves every time I ride. She also said that the ring will still freeze and not be safe for riding in. I’m new to horse ownership so any information and advise would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Talk the BO into Mg Chlor. No more expensive, works very well year round against dust as well as freezing. and is more environmentally friendly
