So is USEF saying she didn’t violate rules because she didn’t hit the horse more than 3x in one moment?? I don’t understand their loophole here in a clear violation of Excessive Use of Whip rules.

Personally I’d like my horse to have a sense of self preservation and NOT jump if I stupidly ride up to an impossibly long distance. Or bury the horse so bad it would take a Herculean effort to jump.

Last weekend, I was riding so poorly. My mare jumped incredibly. So well, I was getting jumped out of the tack and just couldn’t ride to save my life. Worst ride ever. I circled after getting jumped loose, came back to the one stride (an oxer to vertical) and i chipped in so badly…she had the rail of the oxer and jumped out well. I just circled after that and was eliminated, but I knew that was going to happen. I wouldn’t blame her if she would’ve stopped at the oxer, but bless her she will always jump but might have a rail if you mess up badly enough.

We don’t deserve horses 🩷

That’s gross. She clearly lost her temper and that spur at the end was awful. She only taught the horse to fear the whip and spur now. Such a nice horse too.

Equestrian Canada just announced they were “pausing” their award for equestrian of the year for her due to a video. I’m guessing it’s the same one mentioned in this thread? (Eryyn Ballard)
