I wouldn’t describe my horse as more manly after joint injections, but definitely spicier.
I feel the same way after my own joint injections, just younger and more energetic.
Yeah, steroid injections can cause all sorts of weird effects. Mood, hormones, etc. You might want to let the vet know–you may want to avoid that particular steroid in the future. I’ve found (in my own body) that once I started with the systemic side effects of steroid joint injection, they just got worse every time.
He got his injections a month ago. Vet did say that there are a lot of nerves in that area and they could be miss firing. Today was full on, let’s go to the breeding shed mode. It was crazy. Never even got on and went and untacked. Lunged a bit after then decided to try again. He was fine. oy.
