I am starting to plan a vacation to England this coming spring and was considering a horseback ride somewhere in the Cotswolds. Does anyone have any recommendations on best outfitters to use ?
I had a great experience at Cotswold’s Riding a few years ago. http://www.cotswoldsriding.co.uk/
We stayed at their B&B, The Vine, in Stanton. It was a building built in the 1600s I think so do not expect modern conveniences but we were charmed and loved the riding. We did lessons, a pub ride, and just riding in the hills. We were there before the owner, Jill Carenza, died but I believe her daughters are continuing the business. Would 100% do it again.
I don’t know about riding in that area…but the Cotswolds is a great area to visit. If you have time, I would recommend the falconry or owl experience with https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100069134707987
I did their walk before Covid with a friend (we were over there for meetings and had a free day)…she found it and it looked fun. I have to say it was one of the most fun tours I’ve ever done! We flew 2 hawks, a falcon, and an eagle!! I learned so much from them about the birds…and I do not really consider myself a birder/bird person, but it was such a unique experience and they clearly were so knowledgeable and happy to share their birds with us!
I don’t remember the name of the place, but I had a fabulous time riding in the Cotswolds.
We stayed at The Vine just by chance on a walking trip in the Cotswolds several years ago. When I realized the connection with horses, I asked about riding and in no less than an hour I was on a lovely horse and taken on a wonderful hack (with several gallops) up in the hills. Such an unexpected joy!
