Horse boarding between Hyattsville and Columbia, MD

Hi there!

I’m looking for the unicorn of boarding facilities. We are a quiet, considerate, hardworking dressage horse and rider combo looking for top of the line boarding facility somewhere on a commute between College Park and Columbia.

Not looking for training. Will mesh with any discipline so long as the barn offers the following:

• Indoor with excellent, maintained footing
• Private turnout with boots applied
• Feeding 3x per day with quality hay
• Decent sized stalls
• Cleanliness

For this unicorn, I am willing to pay a premium (but lets try to keep it under $900/month). I just need a well maintained place to train my young horse. Private, public, not built yet, western, eventing, hunters - send all that meet the requirements my way! I am not above knocking on doors and putting letters in mailboxes. This used to be Evergreen, a dressage facility. I didn’t know it had changed hands. Looks upscale.

What a deal! 800 a month with an additional paid mandatory weekly lesson and your horse gets southern states grain and two flakes of hay. Wow. For a thousand you don’t have to take lessons. :lol::lol::lol:

Maybe contact the PVDA’s Clarksville chapter? (http://www.pvda.org/category/pvda-chapters/) Otherwise, the main thing I can think of in that corridor is Columbia Horse Center, which is way more lesson-barnish than you’re looking for. Possibly if you go west a bit, an Eventing barn like Waredaca?

I don’t believe Columbia Horse Centre accepts any boarders not in their program.

Also grab the Equiery or look online http://equiery.com and call as many Howard County barns as you have patience for! Although, there is Horsepen Hill http://www.horsepenhill.com/index.html which is not in HoCo and may not be close enough to your geographic parameter.

Talk with the local pony club DC. She will probably know most of the local barns, including some family owned barns.
