Horse Boarding Near Houston

I am looking for a facility near-ish the Houston area. I live in the Heights and currently board in Tomball but the 30 minute drive is killer. Are there any facilities closer to town that don’t require I be in a program? I already have a trainer who I can haul to for lessons, I just need a suitable place to keep my horses. I mainly ride dressage but would like a place that has jumps.

Solstice farms is pretty close in on the south side. Not sure if they have jumps, you could ask.

It depends on what you want in a facility (I used to live in Houston). Solstice is mainly dressage and is a bit pricey. You’d have to see if the fencing and hay and facilities are for you. But they are on the south side of town and you are center/north-west. A bit more south from Solstice is BlueFox farm and Southern Breeze. Both have jumps but you’d have to investigate hay quality, turnout, etc. I think there used to be an Arabian barn on the northern side of the city and I’m not sure it it is there. The only other place in the city that I know of is FoxFire. You’d have to visit. There are some private barns with jumps but I don’t think they take on boarders.

As I said, I used to live in Houston. In my experience, you are lucky if you have a 30 min drive to a good barn. Living in the Heights, you’re looking at a 30 minute drive AT LEAST to just about any quality barn. Who is your trainer? Who do they recommend?

There are some barns going west out 10 or the WPT. Finding a barn north or west of the city is your best bet, I think. I used to drive the WPT to Fulshear. A trek, but worth it.

You are going to have a hard time finding something closer to town AND that doesn’t require using their trainer.

For instance, Hearthstone and Irish Day Farm are not as far from the Heights as Tomball but I’m pretty sure you have to use their trainer at both facilities.

Ashley! Why not just come out to Isabella!!! There are jumps and you have first hand access to your trainer who is onsite! It will shave at least 10-15 minutes off your drive!

Isabella Farms on Huffmeister. Beautiful facility. Devoted to care of horses. Large stalls. Good turnout. Great footing in the arena. Can use onsite trainers or bring in trainers. Incredible clinics. Worth every penny. Been there since it opened 15 years ago.

Hello fellow Isabella boarder!

Isabella Farms is beautiful, Dawn is awesome. I also recommend Erica-West Danque who is is close to Tomball- near Willis.
