Horse Channel for TV?

What is the best channel for watching horse-related television that I can add to my cable? I have Cox cable. I want a variety so not just eventing(but mostly will be used for dressage, eventing, etc…)! Thanks

HRTV has the best variety of horse sports. Most of it is horse racing, but they do show replays from Aachen (SJ, dressage, and eventing), Master Series (clinics with jumpers, hunters, etc), polo, and quite a bit of western stuff, plus Monty Roberts. And the Australian version of The Saddle Club, if you need some cheesy morning eye roll.

RFDTV used to have a good bit of horse programming, but lately all I’ve seen is rodeo, barrel racing, and natural horsemanship (and most of those have turned into 30-minute commercials to sell halters and DVDs).

What about FEI tv? The WEG has me thinking that I would like to watch these! Does HRTV have the same coverage as FEI tv? What about for major hunter/jumper shows or international events?

I believe FEI tv only shows FEI competitions. There’s quite a bit of show jumping on there. But it’s all online. I seriously doubt HRTV has the same coverage of the English disciplines as FEI tv, but I imagine there is more variety in what you see. BUT, I don’t think you can get it through cable, only online. And you have to pay.

You can also watch USEF network. It’s free, which is always appreciated, but again it’s only online and is sporadic in the competitions it covers. However, it does have some nice variety, including Saddleseat, Paso, Arabians, in addition to the big h/j and dressage shows, and Rolex.

You are not going to find a lot of options on cable if you live in the US, sadly. You will mostly have to go online.

If you have access to You Tube on TV, if the stars are aligned, and you have a signed in account to YT, you might be able to watch it. I was able to get it, but since I have to Roku, I can only do that on one TV. So computer in one room, and TV in the other. Hopefully.

I have HRTV and frankly am thinking about getting rid of it - it came w/ an additional sports package. For H/J and eventing things they show the same stuff over and over and over again and generally it’s at least a year old if not older. Like last night was a competition from 2010. They did have an Irish show jumping series which I really like but again it was a year or 2 old - so not very current stuff sorry to say
