Horse & Country TV bogus 30 day trial

Back in February, I was looking for new horse content to watch and came across Horse & Country TV. I decided to try the 30 day trail and cancel before the 7 days If I didn’t like it and did just that, cancelled it. 10 months later, I’m still being billed despite attempting to cancel it over and over. I emailed them asking why I was still being charge and was told the 30 day trial last for a full year and I’m stuck paying for an entire year. They claim I never cancelled within the 7 days. How convenient for them. I didn’t even realize I was still being charged since I thought it was over and done with in February. Has anyone else run into this BS with them?

  1. I’ve heard this before
  2. Dispute charges with your credit card company
  3. In general jump on your subscription problems faster
  4. Might be useful to have a “burner” cc for subscriptions so it’s easier to do get a new card number or even a prepaid card to use for subscriptions you intend to cancel after the first month.

just report the card Lost, at least that is what one of my card issuers recommended. They issued a new card with same account number but with new security code. Also rejected any pending charges to the card without the new security code.

Just took a phone call, the battle was getting through the automated phone answering computer thing to talk with a real person (or at least I believe I was talking to a real person)

I actually did have a stolen card in June. These companies use a service now where they automatically get the new card number if you’re issued a new one.

I thought I had cancelled it in the first week since the content wasn’t even working properly on my computer. I didn’t give it a second thought since it said I needed to be a subscriber to watch content. It wasn’t until I looked a paper bill a few months ago that I realized I was still being charged.

I will use the burner CC next time. I didn’t realize there were subscription services out there still pulling this crap. Even video streaming companies let you end your service at any time. 30 day trial my butt. Try 30 day x12.

When I had some unauthorized recurring charges the cc company issued me a new number because my card was potentially compromised and the unauthorized companies weren’t able to get my new number.

Also go over your cc bill every month.

Today’s online stuff I check Often, but a billing error can be disputed within 60 days of the statement date
