A couple months ago I bought a horse fully knowing that she was a pasture jumper. She would jump out to see one of her friends in another pasture and she had lots of energy since she wasn’t being ridden due to having a break and living in a stall. She is now living outside full time and she has made friends in her field and become boss mare. She had been receiving regular exercise up until quarantine and was jumping out occasionally instead of every day. Recently she has decided to jump out and go for a stroll around the property.
The fence is at least 4’ and I can’t raise the fence since I don’t own the property. She’s friends with all the horses in her field so I don’t think she’s leaving to go see another horse. I will not use hobbles as she will probably figure out how to run around with them on and she can’t be supervised 24/7. I’m not sure what to do especially since I can’t go to the barn due to quarantine. Has anyone else ever experienced this or have any ideas of how to get her to stop jumping out?
