A young horse I have is leading with one knee while free jumping. It’s his first few times over fences. Thoughts? Soundess, greenness, or a reflection of poor talent?
Maybe he is just right/left handed. I say give him a chance to get the hang of it before you panic :).
I wouldn’t worry yet. My mare used to lead with one knee too, in the beginning of her jumping career. Now, 5 years later, she’s high, tight and level in the front on a consistent basis.
Chances are your youngster just needs to learn what to do with his body over fences.
