I know you want someone not connected to a brand but look up BioStar (Tigger Montague). She has an excellent reputation among my dressage friends, maybe she can suggest someone in your area.

It’s not often someone needs to actually lay hands on the horse, so that gives you lots of options. Dr Rachel Motte (Legacy Equine), Dr Clair Thunes (Clarity Equine), Dr Shanno Pratt Phillips with NSCU. Dr Katie Young is with KER, but quite independent in her consultations.
