Horse Pedigree Inquiry

Hi All,

Recently got presented with my pleasure horse’s JC papers!

His tattoo is unreadable so this has been fun to see.

I will admit I know nothing about breeding or racing, but if anyone has any comments on the pedigree below I’d be most interested!

Also if anyone knows anyone who has come in contact with the horse, let them know he’s doing well!

Just got an e-newsletter earlier today about your horse’s 4th dam, Blitey-- http://www.bloodhorse.com/Thoroughbred-Pedigree-Weekly/?&utm_source=PedigreeNewsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=20151112

I just love the Deputy Minister line. Two of my OTTBs have had DM as their grandfather on the sire’s side and have been extroardinarily intelligent and brave. And sound.

Good luck! I wonder why he stopped racing considering he won and placed in only three starts?

Here is his page from the sale, Bob Cheema bought him as a yearling, I cannot find anything about the ranch that consigned him Eagle Ridge Ranch. Cheema is a developer involved in some controversy over a casino.

Here are his stats for racing from Equibase, he ran only 5 time in 2011.

Here is pedigree info from Equineline.com that also includes his breeder’s name, Ross McCloud. This is a more accurate database than PedigreeQuery.

Edit to add that his breeder died young in 2011 (he was a notable man who owned Hastings Racecourse’s parent company).

All,

Thanks so much for the fun reading!! I really appreciate the time and effort you put into it - so much to learn

my fancy hunter is by a Deputy Minister son. I just love how brave and athletic he is. And quiet!. His mother was a dutch warmblood

Well, I personally am greatly impressed by the dam’s breeding for a sport horse. It could hardly be nicer.
