Looking for ways/websites to search for a rental horse property(or seasonal lease) on the east coast- looking to get away from snow this winter…so probably from VA to FL.
All tips appreciated.
You’ll want to go further south than Virginia
Pretty sure they had like three feet of snow this past winter. Probably from south Carolina down is a better bet.
contact Joanne or Audrey at DeSell Realty if you’re interested in a place in/around Southern Pines. They may know word of mouth of any rentals, or if some of the sale properties would be willing to accommodate a seasonal rental.

It’s not as warm as FL or SC, but NC still has mild winters and a healthy hunt/show/clinic schedule.
There is one in pinehurst NC right now, three stall barn, dressage arena and 5 acres. Oh yeah, and a 3 bedrooms
I believe it is 1800$ a month. I’m sure you can see it if you look it up or I can find it for you.
Just a heads up, there were days in NC where it was 20 degrees night/35 day for a week straight. Of course, Christmas was 70 degrees. There is some weird weather here!
As ladyj79 said, go further south than VA. We did have 3’+ of snow and -10*F temps the past winter, and similar conditions the previous year. Without an indoor, there was not much riding being accomplished, at least in Central/Northern VA.
Hmm, I knew there was a potential in VA for snow…but I thought it might only be a light dusting now & then!
Yes, will plan on going further south, thank you for that heads up!

Thanks for that info…definitely doesn’t make sense to move where there’s still going to be snow:)
Thanks for this tip…
I have a place in Ocala, FL that’s available! It’s a really, really beautiful, quiet, peaceful farm just down the road from HITS. There’s also a great Eventing, Dressage and Racing community in the area. Twelve stall barn - bright, airy stalls, wide center aisle. Huge grass paddocks. Meticulously maintained. I can’t believe it’s still available! PM me or check out “Highland Oaks Farm” on Facebook!
Thank you for that reply & contact.
Thanks…I will pm you.
