Horse Shopping in FL!

Hello everyone!
I’ve finally found enough time in my schedule to start looking for my next horse after a few years. I’m planning a trip for the following weekend to go to Ocala/Wellington/Port Orange. Does anyone know any trainers down there I should reach out to? Looking for either a derby prospect or 1.10+ prospect with a healthy budget in the mid fives. Thanks!

I would suggest doing an ISO post in the Hunters, Jumpers & Equitation Unicorns group on FB. You have to wade through the comments and the PM’s, but it will let you line up plenty to see and prioritize. Helen Goddard has a sales barn in Ocala, and EquiSale is in Port Orange, so those are two worth contacting to see what they have in your price range.

Thank you! I’ve already reached out to the two of them and have done an ISO in that group.

Marketmoor LLC and Chestnut Hill Farm both in Ocala.

Hello Amber! Amber @ ExchangeHunterJumper here.
We currently have 3 sale barns in Ocala, and usually about 2 dozen+ horses between them.
Megan Wexler of Golden Oak Farm
Helen Goddard of Helen Goddard, Inc.
Molly Dinapoli of Infinitty Farm

All have pages in our “Sale Barn” showcase at the link in my sig. Good luck in your search!

Please reach out to Marcelo & Sally Barros with WB Equestrian and tell them Heather sent you. They are such wonderful people and sold me the horse of my lifetime. They also sold my father a horse. Both were wonderful and we’ve stayed in touch ever since. I have nothing but good things to say. Plus the barn is drop dead gorgeous!

Any others? i have contacted all of the ones listed above

Try Tricia O’Connor (Cloverlea Farm) and Michael Kirby (Kirby’s Bridge Brook); Tricia is in Williston and Michael is in Ocala. They always have a selection of absolutely fantastic horses. Also consider Redfield Farm (Emil Spadone), Don Stewart Show Stables, and Thinkslikeahorse (Aaron Vale).

Maybe try Kim Burnette at Kimberden Farm in Ocala. She’s a good lady. Kyle Dewar is also in Ocala, and probably has a couple ($$$ though). Both are trustworthy.

If you strike out in FL, I highly recommend Katia Manuel-Adams in New Jersey. I think it’s called Manuel Show Stables.

I second the WB equestrian! They’re wonderful. Also try to get in touch with Alvaro Lozada he does consignment and sells alot of quality jumpers.

I know this is late to reply but if you’re still looking, David Tromp at Tromp Show Stables is great! We got my last jumper from them and they were wonderful to work with!
