My large draft horses are too wide for the pony width singletrees on my Van Den Heuval marathon carriage. I have 22" wide singletrees and the traces rub the leg of one of the pair. He does swing out from the pole in the rear and I am working to correct that over time. In the meantime I am looking for wider singletrees to allow the rub to heal so I can keep driving.
Can any horse pairs driver tell me what width I should use?
