Horse tack websites with quick, reliable shipping/returns?

I’m at my wits end on which website to shop on anymore besides amazon. Smartpak has ALWAYS had shipping issues. Their packages take 10 days to get to me sometimes. I returned a pair of breeches in the beginning of February. Smartpak received the return 2/17 and said today (2/24) they are only getting to returns they received 2/1!! That is 3 weeks behind schedule! I’ve always had issues with slow shipping with them, but not getting your money back for 2 months is not really acceptable.

My last order from Stateline was abysmal. They didn’t ship the order out for almost a month after I ordered it (yet charged me) and wouldn’t let me cancel the order until I made a huge stink fit. I feel like your website is say “out of stock” if you can’t ship something within a month. I mean geeze.

Had a similar experience with Schenider’s regarding a blanket… I haven’t tried Dover lately.

I don’t have hardly any tack stores near me except Tractor Supply, so getting some specific supplies can be hard. If amazon doesn’t have it, I’m usually SOL.

Has anyone had any luck with anyone lately???

Riding Warehouse and Corro have both been good for me, although I haven’t had to do returns recently.

Dover is also good on shipping time and were quick on a refund late last year.

I have pretty much stopped ordering from SmartPak unless I can’t find it elsewhere. I’ve had consistent issues with delays long after their warehouse issues were supposedly resolved and it’s not worth the hassle for me.

In addition supply chains are a mess.

Dover and Riding Warehouse have both been very quick in shipping to me (impressive with Dover since I’m on west coast). I’ve done returns with both that were handled quickly and easily. Much, much better than SmartPak has been lately.

I live in North Texas and always get in-stock Corro orders within in 2-3 days. That being said, I think there is a warehouse near me, but I’m not positive. I’ve never done a return there, so not sure about that.

I consistently get my Riding Warehouse orders within 7 days. Not sure about returns.

I’ve realized that Chewy often has a lot of horse items as well, and I get my Chewy orders fast, in 2-3 days.

I have had this experience with Smartpak as well, even before the supply chain drama.

Riding Warehouse has always been amazing for me - I highly recommend them!

Another vote for Riding Warehouse! Their website isn’t my favorite for browsing but I have never once had a fulfillment or customer service issue with them. I’m on the opposite coast and everything still goes quickly.

Ooh how have I not heard of Corro??
I’m on west coast so I get Riding Warehouse usually overnight, and they’ve processed my returns quickly. Lately I’ve received Dover orders fairly quickly, but I did have a recent return that took forever (several weeks after I shipped with their own label), and one pending that I assume will take a while too.
I actually usually get SmartPak orders within a week (and often within days), as long as the product is in stock. And my recent returns have processed quickly as well.

Lest anyone run across Bit of Britain’s good prices and think they’re a good option: they’re not. Shipping takes WEEKS to even get out the door and they see nothing wrong with that

Dover has been horrendous lately. Their shipping always took longer than I expected but two returns lately (one of two saddles!) took 2 months to process and multiple phone calls.

Bit of Britain is a solid no for me now too. Months to receive items, no communication.

Riding Warehouse and Smartpack have always been prompt both ways for me. Hypostore too may be in Europe but are surprisingly on their game as well, though I haven’t returned anything.

I’ve had good luck with Riding Warehouse.
Classic Saddlery has been quick to ship and quick to answer questions via emails, generous help with saddle fitting and some good deals.
Big D’s is always good to buy from, also quick shipping.

Dover, quick to ship but took over a month to get refunded for a saddle, took a few emails and phone calls to finally get that cleared. Saddle department staff could not answer basic questions about saddles.

Riding Warehouse is very reliable, but for me their shipping is usually one of the longest as I’m on the east coast. Adams Horse Supply has generally been reasonable although I can’t remember if I’ve done a return. Stateline is always hit or miss. Only worth it if it’s a really good price (which sometimes it is) and you are confident that you won’t need to return. I think Dover has improved recently. I’ve honestly never had any issue with Smartpak shipping or returns.

I have had ZERO luck with Bit of Britain or Adam’s Horse supply. It took both several weeks and at least one follow up call to figure out that the item I ordered actually wasn’t available. Honestly. DO NOT DO IT. I think I got a saddle pad from the UK faster.

I don’t think Stateline actually keeps anything in stock. I think everything is drop-shipped from the wholesaler, which definitely leads to things taking longer.

I have really good luck with Smartpak, but I’m literally an hour from their original warehouse and offices. Historically, Dover shipping has not been great, but in the past few years they’ve been trying to compete with Smartpak and it’s gotten better. At least with Smartpak I get the items I actually ordered- with Dover there have been multiple times I’ve gotten the wrong items.

I think right now it has more to do with things being closer to you. You could always call and ask what warehouse something is in and if it is in the closest warehouse? There have a been couple times I’ve ordered from Smartpak and it’s taken longer than the usual 2 days and they said it was because they didn’t have it in the local warehouse in Plymouth and had to ship it from another warehouse on the other side of the country. I think that long haul shipping is what is really backing things up.

Depending on what you need, bigd can be a great option. I am in the Midwest though, so their regular shipping to me is 1-3 days for in stock items.

I’m on the West Coast, and Riding Warehouse orders are often to me within 2 days. I’ve found their returns pretty easy too. For stuff that’s not as urgent, I use Corro. (Their Ulcergard was $10 cheaper per tube than TSC last time I checked…)

I don’t bother with Dover or Smartpak at all anymore. Takes forever to ship, house brands are poor quality, and anything name brand can be found at plenty of other stores.

I think it depends on what coast you’re on. I’m on the east coast (NH) and Smartpak is the quickest for shipping to me, followed by Dover then Riding Warehouse.

If I think I might need to return something, I do prefer to order it from RW even though shipping is slower (a week to 10 days usually) because I love that the return label is included in the box, which makes it super easy for me. I’ve also called the customer service team a couple times and they’ve always been great.

I don’t order anything from them since I don’t have a horse, but I recommend VTO Saddlery. I would run into Paul at shows when I saddle fitted in VA and him and his family are the nicest people.

I just ordered a new GG muzzle from Riding Warehouse. I know it was just a small thing but they shipped it immediately. A pleasant surprise in todays ordering process on so many websites.

I am in Maryland and have been shopping a lot lately. My preference for fast shipping is Big D at 1-2 days, but they don’t offer free returns.

Smartpak is 1 week shipping and free returns, but sometimes returns take a while.
Dover is 1 week shipping and free returns, but return credit sometimes takes FOREVER.
Riding Warehouse is 5-7 days for me, never any issues, haven’t returned anything lately.
Horseware is 2-3 days, don’t know anything about their returns.

Huge shoutout for Rideaway in the UK. Free shipping and returns. Brands you can’t find in US and a huge selection. Just bought a Stierna raincoat and it arrived in 3 days - I did pay $15 for expedited shipping. Never tried a return. No VAT issues.

Thanks for the :-1: on Bit of Britain. Hadn’t ordered from them for years but was tempted.

I’m another fan of Riding Warehouse. Not the widest range of options but great customer service. Plus, a printed return shipping label is already inside every box so returns are simple. I’m in AZ, they’re in Calif., so I get their stuff in 2 days.

Smartpak and Dover are kind of hit-or-miss with shipping times. I would never order anything from either of them that I needed in a timely manner. Plus, both places have erratic time frames when it comes to processing returns. Sometimes it’s done promptly; other times it’s taken an entire month!
