We have a contract on our farm and are preparing to move by the end of April from SW Washington to SW Michigan, exact location tbd. Any suggestions for horse transportation companies? We have a quote from one and will get more, it was about what we expected. I’ve got four to ship. Thanks!!!

I recommened Bob Hubbard. I used Hubbard to do CA to KY, then my trainer did KY to MI as Hubbard didn’t have a load headed up to MI at the time. They have a hub in WA as well. They took one trunk of stuff; I think it had to be under 50 lb. I think there was an option to send a saddle as well or in place, but I didn’t have one.
They weren’t the most expensive quote I recieved, but it wasn’t cheap either. I prefer to pay for a well-known hauler after reading tons of horror stories of people who cheaped out. I’ve used Hubbard twice now and been pleased both times. I’ve also had friends who used them for out of state moves.
Hubbard upgraded her stall for the last portion of the drive because the trailer was empty. My mare stepped off the trailer both times brighty and peppy.

That’s the first place we checked and the quote was within reason. I’ve used them before in
Washington, but it’s always good to get a positive review from another horse person. I appreciate your informative reply very much and now I know for certain we’ll feel good about shipping if we chose them!

I used Brook Ledge when I moved my elderly pony from Colorado to the Myrtle Beach area. I don’t know if they do the route you need, but I just wanted to say I was very happy with them. My pony was in a box stall and was only on the truck for about 36 hours. He came bopping down the ramp on arrival all happy and seemed ready to do another road trip. The drivers were horse people and they went to a lot of effort to try to get my pony to eat on the trip.

Aw, thanks! My husband is from Michigan and we’ve lived there before in a couple places (I did a grad degree at MSU). I hope this will be good, we really need a change from our lives out here!
