It is very odd but out of 11 horses (9 geldings and 2 mares) in the barn, two geldings have urine that smells distinctly fishy. They are all bedded on pine shavings with mats underneath. They all get a fairly similar diet. The two whose urine smells this way get different supplements, so it’s not likely that. These two are at opposite ends of the barn and are not pasture mates. Any ideas?
Fish smell is caused by bacteria. So, UTI.
