Every time I see the containers for transporting horses on planes, I think of the containers used in Jurassic Park for dinosaurs…
Anyway, always cool to see the behind the scenes operation there and the horses shown seem pretty calm through the whole thing. I have to wonder if they don’t sedate some of them for the trip, with all the strange noises, activity, new people, new places, etc., and god forbid one of them gets hurt kicking or knocking around during transit. It’s also interesting that they take so many at a time (60+ I think it said?). The Lipizzaners from the Spanish Riding School were transported on 2 planes so as to help protect the breed from dying out in one tragic crash.

Wow! That Bio Security manual . . . . I had no idea of all the stringent protocols they had to go through upon arrival.
Most of the horses coming for WEG are experienced travelers, so probably no need for any sedatives. Some of them probably have a lot more air miles than most ordinary humans! Their passports are quite thick!
I would imagine most plane rides are smoother than most trailer rides.
Thinking sedatives would be out of the question due to drug testing during the games?

I’ve seen no end of arrival and quarantine photos so I’m really confused about this whole embargo thing. Everyone seems to have travelled well though.
