Horses I Wanted to Take Home from WEG

And, I don’t always mean the class winners or the best conformation or whatever. I’m saying, if you could have pulled your horse trailer up to KHP and had your pick of the competing horses, any discipline, who would you take?

I’d have grabbed Nooney Blue and Jaguar from eventing, Presley Boy and Vigo D’Arsouilles from jumping. Vigo in particular needs to come home with me because, well, I’m half Belgian, and I think he would look splendid in the hunt field…

From para dressage, there were many I’d have swiped. To keep it simple I’ll just limit it to Richter Scale, because, well, what better name for a shire cross. But honest to goodness, THOSE were the best horses in the whole WEG. Their empathy and ability to compensate for riders while performing with precision is just awesome.

Bilbo and Fuego

Number one pick hands down would be Bilbo from Koos de Ronde’s driving team. OMG! In love. . .

Second. . . it has to be Fuego. . . like Bilbo he showed passion and desire for the tasks at hand.

Eventers Courageous Comet, First Lady, and Gin and Juice. And from dressage – definitely Fuego!

Well I did take home what I think is the best horse in WEG. LOL my own. We donated our lovely Friesian mare to the Para dressage team from Russia and she handled things so well. But other then that as I did have a spare spot on the trailer I would have taken home SELDANA DI CAMPALTO love this mare.

not the horse but…

I don’t want to take the horse home but I wouldn’t mind taking home a few straws of Vigo’s semen.

Vigo, Rebozo, Niack, Presley Boy… Funny thing is that I have NO desire to stand or promote a stallion… Of the mares, Seldana and Sapphire for sure! Oh, and Cha Cha Z.

Mister Montana Nic, RC Fancy Step, Dun Playin Tag & Gunners Special Nite can all come live with me!!

(I only got to see the jumpers & reining, so can’t comment on the other disciplines…)

Agreed.

Nobby, the little bay engine that could, individual gold medal horse in Endurance for Spain!

Fabulous Hickstead, too, I’ll add.
Some like it hot.

I want to take home Vigo D’Arsouilles.

Ekwador (sp??) grey dressage horse by Heraldik xx. Qualified for Special, but not Kur. Exquisite!

I didn’t attend the WEG and I’m not familiar with some of these horses. Mind posting links to pics of these guys? I’d love to see them! I should be studying so it’s too much work to google search every name. But I do like to look at horse candy on breaks.

I can’t remember the name, but for me it’s the horse ridden in Dressage by the older Japanese rider (he was 72). I turned and told my friend, “there’s my schoolmaster!”

When she didn’t do as well in the Special, I turned and said, “Look! Her price just went down!”

I did really like her…but that gentleman was a far better rider than me.

MMBs Checkmate please.

Hickstead of course.

Vigo d’Arsouilles

Love Jessie Phoenix’s horse (Exponential)…so sad the world didn’t get to see him showjump. In fact I love every horse on the CET.

Abdullah’s mare, I forget her name. Hope she makes it to London.

Hickstead would be my 2nd choice.

Michael Jung’s Sam. Opposition Buzz. Cool Mountain. All I got to see was eventing, but these horses all skipped around the courses and did better than creditable eventing dressage. Of all, I think I’d especially like to see Opposition Buzz looking out over his stall door every morning.

Go see WEG Pix thread for links to gazillions of photos!

In a heartbeat, fabulous mover. And pair him with Andreas Helgstrand or Laura B.

Whisper?
It was a pity he had a bit of a meltdown, they’ve been competing in Europe for a while and are a solid scoring team.

As far as dressage horses that were out of the spotlight, I would love to have Sini Spirit, Larina Hom, and Dark Surprise.
