I am wondering if any horses sold to USA buyers and stayed here. I know after the Pairs Championship in 1993 (?) many of the drivers sold their horses and equipment to American homes in lieu of paying the shipping back home. Anyone have any info?
Not a competition horse, but one of the Friesian stallions that flew over from the Netherlands for the opening ceremonies was purchased by an American breeder. When the rest of the Dutch stallions headed back to the airport, he headed to complete his quarantine.
I know someone was vetting one of the Chilean show jumpers. Not sure if they ever purchased it but they flew the vets out of CT to go and vet it. I’m not going to name the pricetag but it was WOWZA!!!
