Well, I like to “work” the young horses from the day I get them. There is a lot of “training” that can be done without sitting on their back…ground tying, getting touched everywhere, picking up feet when asked…etc. And by the day I do sit on their back, this strange human flopping around on their back is a non-event…and this is a good thing. After having had a mounting block wreck, this has been a point of focus for my “young horse lessons.”
