Horseville?

Was just idly helping friend look for a companion horse/pony/donkey for her retired mare, and saw some very odd adds on this site. Friesians with identical descriptions that sounded like they’d been run thru a weird translation program and priced at $2,000, with one pic that looked more like a Fell pony - or the rider was 7’ tall; a pristine Brenderup Baron trailer for $2,000; another Friesian described as a barrel racing prospect; and a buckskin QH/Appaloosa
described as having been in reining training for almost two years with Sean Flarida, 16.3 (!), chestnut, a hunter (?!) and priced at $2,800 (I would think that would cover maybe two months with Flarida!) Is the entire site a con?

I bought a pony that was listed on Horseville several years ago. I actually first saw him at a show and then ran across his sales ad a few weeks later. So at least one ad was legit. But I did also see a few of the ads similar to what you describe. Worded funny with odd descriptions. Like the “three gaited open jumper”

The Friesian and trailer ads with confusing details/too good to be true prices can be found all over the place on various classified sites. They’re obvious scams. You send your money, nothing shows up. Scammers copy key words/terms from other ads, trying to sound more legit, without really knowing what they mean. I think the ratio of them on this site is higher because it’s a less known/used site and has fewer real ads.

Yeah, I figured they were scams. Just surprised at how many. The reiner one was particularly odd. Heck, I wanna see me a 16.3 chestnut/buckskin reiner that is also a hunter! And trained by a successful WEG reiner! LOL
