Just to add to the confusion, it seems to me that blanket sizing has changed over the years. When I got my current horse 14 years ago, I bought his blanket wardrobe - all size 78" Weatherbeeta. I initially bought an 81" Rhino, but it was way too big. I got a great deal on the WBs, so that’s what I ended up getting.

Fast forward a decade, and the WBs were wearing out. I ordered a 78" Rhino, and guess what - too small. I ended up getting an 81". My old QH wore a 75" Rhino for ages. Now he wears a 78". I wonder if the blanket manufacturers changed their sizing so more horses would wear “big” sizes. We all know people who like to tell everyone how big their horse is.

It may be that there’s been vanity sizing over the years. When I measure I am looking at two blankets brought relatively contemporaneously

I love the HW liners myself, but I know they’re a pain for boarding facilities. I keep a 0 g, 200 g, and 400 g blanket on my boy’s blanket bar, and several liners in my trunk. If his 200 g gets filthy, I’ll send it off for cleaning and leave his sheet plus a 200 g liner to tide him over.
