Anyone have one? Do you like it? How does it look coming out of the washer? It looks a little wrinkly on the hanger which is why I’m asking. TIA.
Great coat!
Absolutely loooooove it!
I bought the red one. Can’t believe the price. It has a more classical fit, not as tight as an Animo (I have a Lei), so no embarrassment there… It is more lightweight, though.
Maybe the fact that the fabric is lighter, makes it seem a little more wrinkled. To be honest, you can’t have many wrinkles on an Animo coat, because it wears like a glove. Most soft shell coats lack the “structure” of the traditional ones because they can’t be made with the same textile between the lining and the outer shell (it’s something that gives the coat some “frame”).
Also, I’m “height impaired”, being 5ft, and it was just the right length for me. I did have to alter the sleeves, but I have to do that on all coats. Take into consideration that the buttons are not sewn on but punched in, so when I shortened the sleeves, I was lucky enough that no buttons were needed to be left on, lengthwise. It has no lining inside, so it is pretty lightweight.
I have used it in about four classes before I washed it. It didn’t wrinkle being worn for multiple classes nor after washing. I simply let it lay on a towel till it was a little more than damp and then hung it on a wide shoulder hanger. No wrinkles whatsoever. Just like out of the tack store.
I would definitely recommend it!
Thanks for the input. My daughter is at Saugerties without me and really wants the jacket but as I’m not there to see it in person, I am a little cautious. She is also height impaired but her trainer says that it fits her really well.
To be honest, for less than $100 (or at least that’s what I paid for it online…), it is surely worth it. It will not look like the traditional hunter jackets, nor will any sporty soft shell that is selling now. The type of fabric doesn’t allow that perfectly smooth exterior, but it is the fad nowadays.
I have, to date, an Animo Lei, Horze Winona, a Prestatie Sport Victoria (UK brand) and GPA in soft shell. Compared to the Pikeur Diana and Scarlett, which are not soft shell (just stretchy wool fabric), they lack the “structure”, but are much more comfortable.
By the way, if you are wondering, yes, I am a coat-aholic
I show in it as I’m sponsored by them and I love it. It drapes nicely on, but yes it does look wrinkly on the hanger
ETA I’m height impaired as well (5’2) and it’s the right length on me.
Does anyone have a photo of the coat in person? How breathable is it really?
